Will you go thru’ plastic surgery just to get a better job..?? if i was still in Asia.. i might take the same steps too. Why ..?? because there are discrimination in Asia., if you are a prettier and slimmer woman.. you get to be promoted faster.. and you get hired on first. And it is true!

Yes..!! the Olympics ended yesterday in Beijing with much celebration.. and pretty dramatic too.. from what i’ve heard. I have a Swiss friend stationed in Beijing .. and he was in some of the games .. as a spectator. From him .. i heard that plans were sent to the air to disperse some sort of materials to ensure the no rain would fall during the ceremony. Wonder what they did eh..?
There was a countdown.. followed by some awesome fireworkds.. and some flying daggers show.. and 200 drummers. I also hear that the world famous spanish tenor Palcido Domingo sang a duet wtih Song ZuYing a Chinese soprano star. Now that would be a sight .. and good listening. .for all..??

Look at the crowd..! So what’s next ..?? for china.. after the Olympics..??
A chinese journalist used twitter .. to inform others of his arrest by security forces during the olympics and was forced to go somewhere far away from the event. It was said .. that Zhou the chinese journalist was ordered to meet the police and accused of having 2 kids in the 1 kid bylaw of China.. and local limit. But according to Zhou.. he is childless.. therefore the accusation was baseless. Zhou 27 was placed under arrest when he arrived at the police station .. and was driven to a mining town and currently under house arrest till the Olympics is over..?
We’ve heard alot about the chinese laws in China.. and i’m not hopeful for Zhou at all. There is no appeals.. and it is still pretty much a communist kinda practice.. from what i’ve heard.

Now that’s really bad.. !! a prettier lil’ gal was used to show the world.. and lip syn the opening ceremony song for the olympic all because the real chinese gal who can sing .. was not as pretty. Lin Miaoke was put on stage instead of Yang Peiy .. because the government wanted the world to see that the chinese gals .. are pretty..?? That’s just sad..!! and also deceiving the public or rather the whole world.. by using one girl voice and the other girl looks. The Chinese officials deemed Yang not pretty enough to represent China.. and was said.. she was not chosen because of her crooked teeth..! How shallow is that..??

This is an absolutely magnificent sight. during the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics 2008 of course in Beijing’s Bird Nest National Stadium. The fireworks would send just about anyone in awe. Definitely an experienced for those who were lucky enough to get tickets to watch it at the stadium. I hear great performances, excellent choreographed shows and many dazzling effects and of course the magnificent fireworks .. was like none others.
The Olympics has started..!! Awesome..!! We all should be proud as Chinese. This has to do with the world.. and not just Beijing or the Chinese.

Yes.. this birdnest like stadium is where the Olympics 2008 will be held. Either the Chinese loves their birdnest alot.. or somebody was having a bad day. .when designing this. I also heard from a friend.. who is in Beijing.. that they only announced today.. that it was gonna be a public holiday.. on 8th and today is already the 6th. So smart to the Chinese government..??
I counted about at least 100 artistes from both Hong Kong and China.. is involved in this theme song for the olympics held in Beijing this year. It’s an awesome song.. and one cannot feel proud and being a chinese.. even though i am not from China.

Beijing warned foreigners to behave during the coming Olympics and said that protesting without permission and sleeping outdoors is banned. China had an extensive “do not” list written in Chinese.. and warned that even if you had tickets to the Olympics, it does not guarantees you a Visa..!
If you have STD or intent to prostitute yourself during the Olympics.. you will not be allowed to enter China, same if you are crazy. Looks like Beijing is more obsessed about the stability of the country than ever.. and don’t want any hitch during the Olympics. For several months now.. China had been tightening the visa controls.. and residential permits for foreigner and even permits for places of entertainment.
But I’m pretty sure no one wants to get thrown into the jail in Beijing.. because I heard it is nasty.

Shocking . .and sad..!! InChengdu, China a powerful earthquake brought buildings, school and a chemical plant down on Monday. Killing nearly 10 thousand ppl.. and trapped untold numbers in mounds of concrete, steel and earth in the worst earth quake ever in 3 decades. The 7.9 magnitude quake devastated a region of small cities and towns set amid steep hills north of Sichuan’s provincial capital of Chengdu. It happened in the mid afternoon.. and it can be felt as far as Vietnam.. and in Beijing. The folks in Beijing were told to evacuate.
Forced and having no choice after weeks of urging from world leaders for an open dialogue in the wake of anti-government protests in Tibet, the China government agreed on Friday to a meeting with an envoy sent by the exiled Tibetan leader, the Dalai Lama. No much was revealed about location, time and place this meeting is going to take place at and with whom.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy had suggested that he might skip the Olympic games’ opening ceremony unless Beijing sits and talk with the Dalai Lama. The Tibetans protests that sparked deadly rioting in the capital had threatened to overshadow this summer’s Beijing Olympic Games. US President Bush and Australia Prime Minister Kevin Rudd were some of the world’s leader calling for this open talk.
“It is hoped that through contact and consultation, the Dalai side will take credible moves to stop activities aimed at splitting China, stop plotting and inciting violence and stop disrupting and sabotaging the Beijing Olympic Games so as to create conditions for talks,” it quoted the official as saying.
China had reported only 22 death during the recent riot in Tibet’s capital Lhasa, while overseas supporters believed that the numbers were many times over. Very sad..!
When i read about the Chinese police fired on pilgrim protest and Tibetans wounded.. i cannot help but think of Tiananmen Square Massacre. That day was a very sad day.. I was in Beijing for work.. and was quickly evacuated by the company i worked for .. and sent home immediately.. but it was a very scary day. 100,000 students marched and gathered in Tiananmen Square and requested in vain to meet the Premier Li.
“In a statement from his home in exile in Dharamsala, India, the Dalai Lama said that the demonstrations were “outbursts of long pent-up physical and mental anguish” that proved most Tibetans want freedom from Chinese rule. But he said that Tibetans should not try to disrupt the Olympics. “It will be futile and not helpful to anyone if we do something that will create hatred in the minds of the Chinese people,” he added.”

With the Olympics just months away .. in Beijing, one cannot help but fear about the riots .. and the death of already 30 people. If you all remembered in 1989, the Tiananmen Square massacre, in which hundreds died when the party sent in tanks to crush pro-democracy protests. Now China fears that they may face the same disaster on par with the Tiananmen Square massacre.
About time..! in my opinion..!! China although is opened to the outside world.. for tourism.. it is still a very communist country.
“China declared Tuesday it is willing to resume a long-stalled human rights dialogue with the United States, seeking to improve its image before this summer’s Olympic Games in Beijing.”
Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said they will have exchanges and discussions on human rights with the United States and other countries on the basis of mutual respect, equality and non-interference. China suspended participation in the regular U.S.-China human rights dialogue in 2004 after the United States sponsored a resolution in the Geneva-based U.N. Human Rights Commission urging condemnation of China’s record. Chinese officials considered the U.S. move in Geneva as interference in Chinese affairs and a display of hostility that made further formal dialogue impossible.
