Just a few days ago.. i was reading that Prince Henry was serving in Afghanistan. That he had been deployed to fight the Taliban. I thought it was very noble of him.. and brave of the British official. Now he is being pulled out of Afghan becuase of a leak from a Australia magazine..! Yanked out from Afgan were the exact words.

Sydney Herald report that :“Chief of the General Staff and professional head of the British Army, General Sir Richard Dannatt, is furious the embargo has been broken.”

Nortel, one of the largest telecommunication company in North America reported a $957 million loss for 2007. Cutting 2100 jobs and move 1000 others mostly to China and Turkey.

“The loss, which compares with an $80 million loss in the previous year, largely stemmed from a $1.043 billion write-down in the value of the company’s future tax write-offs. During a conference call for investors, Pavi Binning, the chief financial officer, said those write-offs were revalued largely because of reduced Canadian corporate tax rates and the increase in the value of Canadian dollar relative to the United States dollar. “

Certainly pity those guys and families who will be outta job soon.  Some must have been with Nortel for a long, long time.  What kinda of severance package does Nortel has for its employees…?

Human Rights Commission urging condemnation of China’s record. Chinese officials considered the U.S. move in Geneva as interference in Chinese affairs and a display of hostility that made further formal dialogue impossible.

The community where the late Karissa Boudreau was from pays tribute to this 12 yrs old who was found slained after missing for 2 weeks. Classified as a homicide, hundreds packed to pay their last respect and to grief in disbelieved of the murder.
I guessed the community is shocked because the last homicide was 15 yrs ago. And a 12 yrs old death is quite sad..! The police had said very little about Karissa’s death and insisted that it was an isolated case. But no matter what there is still a psycho killer out there.. as far as I am concerned. Parents should be very careful .. when they let their children go out on their own.

Yes.. come this Thursday.. anyone living in Nova Scotia.. and driving a car.. will have to pay for more.. for their gas.

Looks like Stephen Harper Prime Minister in Canada wants it speed up into law by March 1st or else he wants to force a spring election because of it.  Under the crime bill, there would be higher mandatory sentences for gun crimes and accused gun offenders will only get restricted bail… or NOT..!  I’m just glad .. i’m not living anywheres near Vancouver.. else I’ll have to watch out for flying bullets.
